  • Spatula. Steel trowel<\/li>\n
  • Microfibre roller<\/li>\n

  • Vacuum cleaner<\/li>\n
  • Measuring cup or digital scale<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Required CimentArt products<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

      \n
    • CimentArt PLUS or STD Primer<\/li>\n
    • CimentArt fibreglass mesh<\/li>\n
    • KONCRET BASE flooring + MIX resin or Microcement BASE walls + MIX resin or Aqua BASE 100% waterproof<\/li>\n
    • AQUA NATURE microcement<\/li>\n
    • STD Sealer<\/li>\n
    • WB two-component polyurethane varnish (water-based) or HARD SB (solvent-based) CIMENTART (Comp A and Comp B).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Before starting<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

      Check the surface where it will be applied and ensure that the surface is:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • Straight.<\/li>\n
      • Firm and stable.<\/li>\n
      • Dry and free of moisture.<\/li>\n
      • Clean.<\/li>\n
      • Free of dust, grease, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Preparation of surfaces<\/strong><\/p>\n

        Any floor, uneven or cement wall, tiled walls, shower floors and, in general, any surface that is not completely smooth and perfectly flat needs to be levelled beforehand. To do this, we have three types of BASE microcements for levelling the surface:<\/p>\n

          \n
        • KONCRET BASE (FLOORS): Can be applied to all indoor and outdoor floors, without exception. Two-component product. Mix 4 parts Koncret Base with 1 part Mixing Resin. Coverage: 1.25 kg\/m\u00b2 per 1 mm layer, with 2 layers always required.<\/li>\n
        • Microcement BASE walls: Applied to walls that need levelling, both indoors and outdoors. Two-component product. Mix 3 parts Microcement BASE walls with 1 part Mixing Resin. Coverage: 1 kg\/m\u00b2 per 1 mm layer, with 2 layers always required.<\/li>\n
        • Aqua BASE 100% waterproof: Applied to walls that need levelling and shower floors. Interior and exterior. Ready-to-use and 100% waterproof product. To achieve complete colour homogenisation, it is recommended to mix it with an electric mixer. Coverage: 1 kg\/m\u00b2 per 1 mm layer, with 2 layers always required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Step-by-step application<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

          Apply protective tape where necessary.<\/p>\n

          For application on completely smooth walls (i.e. walls without joints, imperfections or small rough patches, such as completely smooth, sanded and filled walls or painted plasterboard), only carry out steps 2, 3, 4 and 5 (skip step 1).<\/p>\n

          For application on floors, walls in poor condition or with tile joints, follow steps 1, 3, 4 and 5 (skip step 2).<\/p>\n

          1. Cement floors or walls, uneven or with tiles:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          Spread the CimentArt fibreglass MESH and apply a coat of CIMENTART PLUS PRIMER.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          Apply the first coat of any of our Microcemento BASE products.<\/p>\n

            \n
          • Using a steel trowel at a 45\u00b0 angle, apply a maximum thickness of 0.7 to 1 mm (the thickness is determined by the grain of the mixture and the pressure applied during application).<\/li>\n
          • Finish the first layer, leaving it as smooth as possible and without irregularities.<\/li>\n
          • Remove the protective tape before the Microcement BASE hardens.<\/li>\n
          • Allow the first layer of Microcemento BASE to dry completely.<\/li>\n
          • Drying time is relative and depends on humidity, temperature, ventilation, etc.<\/li>\n
          • Remove any irregularities that may have remained after applying the first layer of Microcement BASE with a spatula or 40-grit sandpaper.<\/li>\n
          • Remove any dust created by sanding. You can also wipe it down with a damp cloth.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Apply protective tape where necessary.<\/li>\n
          • Apply the second coat of Microcement BASE with a steel trowel, using an angle of 30\u00b0\u00a0 <\/span>, and applying a maximum thickness of 1 mm (the thickness is determined by the grain of the mixture and the pressure applied during application).<\/li>\n
          • Finish this second coat, leaving it as smooth as possible and without any irregularities.<\/li>\n
          • Tip: for both the first and second coats, you can spray lightly with water using a spray diffuser and smooth with the trowel to correct any irregularities.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Remove the protective tape before the Microcement BASE hardens and allow the second layer of Microcement BASE to dry completely.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Drying time is relative depending on humidity, temperature, ventilation, etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Sand the second layer of Microcement thoroughly with 40-grit sandpaper, correcting any irregularities until the surface is completely smooth.<\/li>\n
          • Remove the sanding dust by vacuuming. You can also wipe it with a damp cloth.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
          • Apply protective tape where necessary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            2. Completely smooth walls:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

            Apply a coat of CimentArt PLUS or STD Primer.<\/p>\n

            Wash the roller and tray with water.<\/p>\n

            3. AQUA NATURE microcement<\/p>\n

              \n
            • The coverage of AQUA NATURE Microcement is approximately 1 kg\/m\u00b2 when applying the product in a 0.7 mm layer. Two layers must be applied, and a total of 2 kg will be needed to cover 1 m\u00b2.<\/li>\n
            • The product is supplied ready to use, but it is advisable to mix it well with a spatula or electric mixer until you have a homogeneous mixture of colour.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Application of the first layer of AQUA NATURE Microcement:<\/p>\n

                \n
              • Use a steel trowel with rounded edges, such as those used for stucco.<\/li>\n
              • Apply in short strokes in layers with a maximum thickness of 0.7 mm.<\/li>\n
              • The thickness is determined by the grain of the mixture, applying pressure with the trowel.<\/li>\n
              • Finish the first coat, leaving it as homogeneous as possible and without irregularities.<\/li>\n
              • Remove the protective tape. Allow the first layer of AQUA NATURE Microcement to dry completely.<\/li>\n
              • Drying time depends on humidity, temperature, ventilation, etc.<\/li>\n
              • Sand the first layer of AQUA NATURE Microcement with 80-grit sandpaper, correcting any irregularities.<\/li>\n
              • Remove the dust created by sanding with a vacuum cleaner.<\/li>\n
              • Tip: before applying the second coat in very hot environments, you can lightly spray the surface with water using a spray bottle. This will help with the application.<\/li>\n
              • Apply protective tape where necessary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                Apply a second coat of AQUA NATURE Microcement following the same procedure as for the first coat.<\/p>\n

                  \n
                • Using a steel trowel, apply in short, circular movements at an angle of 30\u00b0\u00a0 <\/span>, applying a maximum thickness of 0.7 mm (the thickness is determined by the grain of the mixture, applying a certain amount of pressure with the trowel).<\/li>\n
                • Tip: while applying the second coat, you can lightly spray the applied surface with a spray bottle filled with water and smooth it again with the trowel. This will help you achieve a smoother finish.<\/li>\n
                • Finish the second coat, leaving it as even as possible and without any irregularities.<\/li>\n
                • Tip: to ensure that no joints are visible, the final layer of AQUA NATURE Microcement should be applied continuously without stopping.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  Remove the protective tape and allow the second coat of AQUA NATURE Microcement to dry completely.<\/p>\n

                    \n
                  • Drying time depends on humidity, temperature, ventilation, etc.<\/li>\n
                  • Sand the second coat of AQUA NATURE Microcement with 80-grit sandpaper, correcting any irregularities.<\/li>\n
                  • Remove the dust created by sanding with a vacuum cleaner. Never use a damp cloth at this stage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    4. STD Sealer<\/p>\n

                      \n
                    • Apply protective tape where necessary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                      Pour the STD Sealer into a tray and apply an even coat with a short-pile roller or microfibre roller.<\/p>\n

                        \n
                      • The coverage of STD Sealer is 100 g\/m\u00b2. To cover 10 m\u00b2, you will need 1 kg.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                        Wash the roller and tray with water.<\/p>\n

                          \n
                        • Allow the Sealer to dry. Drying time varies depending on humidity, temperature, ventilation, etc. It usually dries fairly quickly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                          5. CimentArt two-component polyurethane varnish<\/p>\n

                          Water-based WB two-component varnish<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

                          Recommended for: interior and exterior application on all walls and ceilings and on floors with moderate foot traffic.<\/p>\n

                          Preparation:<\/p>\n

                            \n
                          • Mix 5 parts of Component A of the 2-component water-based varnish with 1 part of Component B.<\/li>\n
                          • To make 1 kilo of varnish with the 2 components, you will need 840 g of Component A and 160 g of Component B.<\/li>\n
                          • The approximate coverage is 50 g\/m\u00b2, applying a thin layer of 0.1 mm. It is always necessary to apply 2 coats. To cover 10 m\u00b2 with 2 coats, you will need approximately 1 kg of the mixture.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                            HARD SB solvent-based 2-component varnish<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

                            Recommended for: indoor and outdoor application on floors with heavy foot traffic.<\/p>\n

                            Preparation:<\/p>\n

                              \n
                            • Mix 2 parts of Component A of the 2-component solvent-based varnish with 1 part of Component B.<\/li>\n
                            • To make 1 kg of solvent-based 2-component varnish with the 2 components, you will need 666 g of Component A and 333 g of Component B.<\/li>\n
                            • The approximate coverage is 100 g\/1 m\u00b2, applying a thin layer of 0.1 mm. It is always necessary to apply 2 coats. To cover 10 m\u00b2 with one coat, you will need approximately 1 kg of the mixture.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                              Application<\/p>\n

                                \n
                              • Apply a first coat of varnish 0.1 mm thick with a microfibre roller or spray gun (combing the surface well if applying with a roller) and leave to dry for at least twelve hours.<\/li>\n
                              • Apply a second coat with a microfibre roller or spray gun, exactly the same as the first coat.<\/li>\n
                              • You can apply a third extra coat for added protection, especially in areas that come into direct contact with water, such as showers, outdoor terraces, etc.<\/li>\n
                              • Do not forget to wash the roller and tray with water or solvent, depending on the type of varnish used.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                Important<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n

                                  \n
                                • AQUA NATURE Microcement can be applied to any surface except surfaces with capillary moisture, swimming pools, car parks and factories with heavy machinery traffic.<\/li>\n
                                • We do not recommend applying AQUA NATURE Microcement in very light colours on floors, as its micro-porous finish can be difficult to clean.<\/li>\n
                                • Never apply layers of Microcement BASE thicker than 1 mm.<\/li>\n
                                • Never apply layers of AQUA NATURE Microcement with a thickness greater than 0.7 mm.<\/li>\n
                                • Microcemento Fino Traditional, iCem, Oxide or Microstucco CIMENTART should not be used on shower floors or outdoor terraces (horizontal surfaces that receive a large amount of water). For these types of surfaces, we recommend using the AQUA range, which is ready to use and 100% waterproof.<\/li>\n
                                • In high-traffic areas such as shops, offices or shopping centres, etc., we recommend applying a third coat of HARD SB solvent-based 2-component varnish.<\/li>\n
                                • Always apply any of our CimentArt 2-component varnishes in thin layers of 0.1 mm.<\/li>\n
                                • Ensure that the entire microcement surface is perfectly covered with any of our 2-component varnishes.<\/li>\n
                                • We recommend finishing any floor with any of our CimentArt 2-component varnishes with a GLOSS or SATIN finish.<\/li>\n
