WORKING SYSTEM

CEMPOOL SWIMMING POOL WORK SYSTEM

Tools required for application

  • Protective tape
  • Spatula. Steel trowel
  • Microfiber roller
  • Paint tray
  • Electric mixer

CimentArt products required

  • CEMPOOL CimentArt Comp A + B + C + D
  • ANTILEAK CIMENTART

Before starting

Check the surface where it will be applied and make sure that the surface is:

  • Straight
  • Firm and without movement
  • Without loose tiles or mosaic tiles.
  • Peeling paint or old chlorinated rubber in poor condition must be completely removed before applying CEMPOOL CIMENTART.
  • Dry and free of moisture
  • Clean
  • Free of dust, grease, lime, etc.

Preparation of substrates

For the application of CEMPOOL CIMENTART, substrates must be smooth, resistant, and completely stable.

Any uneven or cement floors or walls, pool paints, or chlorinated rubber paints in poor condition must be removed before application.

Any tiles or mosaic tiles that are not firmly attached must be completely removed and the entire surface leveled before applying CEMPOOL CIMENTART.

For any work that needs to be leveled before applying CEMPOOL CIMENTART, waterproof mortars must be used.

For small repairs, filling empty mosaic or tile joints, or filling small holes or missing mosaic pieces, apply a layer of CEMPOOL CIMENTART beforehand, before applying the final layer.

The approximate yield of CEMPOOL CIMENTART as a jointing material is ± 1 kg/1 m²/layer of ±0.5 mm.

The approximate yield of CEMPOOL CIMENTART as a final finishing layer is ± 5 kg/1 m².

Step-by-step application

Apply protective tape where necessary.

1. Pour Component A, Component B, and Component C into the empty bucket provided for mixing. Mix the three components mechanically until you obtain a perfectly homogeneous mixture with a uniform cream color.

Gradually pour the contents of Component D (powder) into the mixture of A+B+C and mix mechanically until you have a homogeneous mixture without lumps.

Begin applying the first coat of CEMPOOL CIMENTART in sections with a steel trowel, in an orderly manner, in layers of 4 to 5 mm, ensuring that all the mosaic tile joints are covered and/or that the entire substrate is completely covered.

CEMPOOL CIMENTART should be applied in a single coat. It is therefore important to cover the entire surface well so that the background is not visible and the tile joints are not noticeable.

The application should be carried out continuously, without stopping.

2. Within 10 to 40 minutes after applying the layer of CEMPOOL CIMENTART (depending on whether the substrate is absorbent or not, temperature, direct sunlight, drafts, etc.), while the layer is still fresh and not dry, apply ANTILEAK CIMENTART with a short-bristle roller.

This application is done over the entire surface, applying a little pressure with the wet roller and going over the entire application to remove marks and imperfections from the trowel until you achieve a smooth cement finish.

Moisten the roller as many times as necessary with ANTILEAK CIMENTART when you notice that the roller is drier or sticks to the CEMPOOL CIMENTART roller.

In areas where the roller cannot be used, smooth ANTILEAK CIMENTART with the help of a sponge.

ANTI LEAK CIMENTART should always be applied while CEMPOOL CIMENTART is still wet. If too much time has passed since application, the roller will not smooth the surface. Under no circumstances should the roller be too dry; it must always be thoroughly soaked in ANTI LEAK CIMENTART for application.

Remove the protective tape.

Important

  • Do not apply if there is a risk of frost or rain during application or in the 4 days following application.
  • Do not apply at temperatures below 5°C or above 30°C.
  • Surfaces must be resistant and stable, and must be clean and free of dust, grease, paint in poor condition, lime, dirt, poorly bonded tiles, loose mosaic tiles, and any other material that could hinder adhesion. Mosaic tile pools must be perfectly grouted.
  • CEMPOOL CIMENTART is a product that must always be submerged in water. Never apply it outside the pool or above the waterline.
  • It should always be placed before starting to apply CEMPOOL CIMENTART in the area of the waterline of mosaic tiles, tiles, stone, or ceramic.
  • If you wish to apply two coats, you may do so. Apply each coat with a minimum thickness of 2-3 mm and wait 24 hours between coats.
  • Do not use coloring pigments in CEMPOOL CIMENTART.
  • Protect skimmers, water jets, drains, etc. with tape and remove the tape while the product is still fresh. Never leave the tape in place and allow the product to dry completely.
  • Mix components A + B + C and then add component D (powder) little by little. Never add component D all at once and then try to mix. Mix the four components without leaving too much time between them.
  • The mixer used to prepare the mixture must be industrial or professional grade. DIY drill mixers are not suitable for preparing the mixture.
  • Whenever possible, it is recommended that the entire application be completed on the same day so that joints and seams are not noticeable.
  • CEMPOOL CIMENTART should be applied by several people. A minimum of 3 people is recommended for an application of approximately 50 m².
  • The mixture has a pot life of approximately 20 minutes once mixed. Once the CEMPOOL CIMENTART mixture in the container begins to harden, you should not continue with the application, as the product will not have the same adhesion.
  • Avoid applying CEMPOOL CIMENTART in extremely hot conditions or in direct sunlight. Temperatures above 30°C greatly accelerate drying.
  • The applied layers must be started and finished without interruption. Never leave a layer half done; once started, continue until completion without stopping, so that no cuts, joints, or seams are noticeable.
  • The purpose of applying ANTI LEAK CIMENTART is to smooth and remove marks and imperfections from the trowel, leaving a smooth mortar. This product is not intended to produce an ultra-fine finish.
  • During application, avoid drafts that could bring in dust, leaves, or any type of dirt, as these could stick to the product.
  • CEMPOOL CIMENTART is sand-colored. Once applied, CEMPOOL CIMENTART may change color to pistachio green. Once the pool is filled with water, the pool maintenance chemicals will cause it to return to its sand color.
  • You must wait 5 days before filling the pool or wetting the surface. Never do so before 5 days have passed.
  • One day after completely filling the pool with water, add the product for water maintenance. Under no circumstances should you add the water maintenance product while the pool is being filled.
  • Afterwards, never add any product to maintain or treat the water (chlorine, bromine, salt, maintenance products, flocculants, etc.) directly, without first diluting it in water. We recommend that you read the manufacturer’s exact instructions and do not add more than the recommended amount. This can affect the final finish and discoloration may occur.
  • Do not place chlorine tablets or salts directly on the pool floor or on the ladder floor. This can cause color changes. Chlorine tablets should be placed in the pool skimmer or on floats.
  • Any liquid or granular product must be diluted in water beforehand and poured into the skimmer with the pool filter running and the selector valve in the recirculation or filtration position.
  • We recommend maintaining a pH of 7.2 in the water.
  • Use appropriate PPE, such as clothing, gloves, and a mask when applying the products.
  • Clean tools and work equipment with universal solvent.
